What if we started a campaign to get everyone to donate their $600 rebate checks to a major anti-war effort or some other charity that stands in direct opposition to why we had to deliver a stimulus package in the first place (i.e. debt due to defense spending)?
This is our opportunity to protest in a way that the government will understand: with our money. No picket signs. No convening on the steps of Washington. No yelling til our faces are blue. Just a quiet spending action that overtly opposes our government, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the consumption-based practices that are helping to fuel both.
Stay tuned, send in your ideas for charities that could benefit and come back often for more ideas.
